Re: New Artixscan F1
I will admit, I do see what appears to be some sort of sharpening around the edges of some scans using ScanWizard Pro even with sharpening disabled. Though the slide that I am using as a reference is a mass reproduced test slide which may in fact have more grain and artifacts than a directly shot ph...

Faster Preview Scan - Artixscan M1/F1
I've noticed that for some reason performing a preview scan when in transparency mode using the M1 (i'm sure F1 as well) it performs it's autofocus dance and calibration routine which takes more than a minute. It would be nice to be able to force a fast preview scan just so I can set my scan area an...

Re: Microtek M1 and Auto Focus
I'm sure the autofocus works on the M1 since I can clearly scan with autofocus enabled (no extra post-sharpening applied on either) using the ScanWizard Pro software and get a sharp output as seen in the attached images. The same scan using the same settings with SilverFast AI with autofocus enabled...

Re: How to Scan Glass Slides 84mm x 84mm
I've scanned a number of large glass slides on several different machines (never on a Microtek however) and I simply position them on the glass and scan them with the Transparency Full Area mode. This may disable autofocus but that is the price to pay to scan something like that. I've had some diffi...

Re: New Artixscan F1
I certainly really enjoy the resolution and detail (and spot on focus) that I am getting out of this scanner. Totally awesome! Yea I wish the States also got the F1 but shame we didn't. I'm assuming you are using SilverFast with your F1? Have you had any problems with the autofocus not giving you a...
