Exposure and Color Temperature

Dear Lasersoft,

Please bring back the Color Temperature and Exposure sliders under Picture Settings in Silverfast 8. They were part of Silverfast Ai Studio 6.6 but are nowhere to be found.

Thanks!

Re: Silverfast user manual

I find it troubling there is no official documentation for either Silverfast Ai Studio 8 or Silverfast HDR Studio 8. The software went through extensive testing and has been available for some time now. Yes, there is the book by Mark Segal, but that is/should be a supplement to an official manual pe...

Silverfast 8 - Special Menu Options

I cannot seem to find an option which existed under the Special menu in SF 6.6 which allowed a B&W scan using only Red/Green/Blue Channel.

Does this option exist in Silverfast 8?

Thanks!

Silverfast 8 x64 Launcher Issue

Hi,

I cannot launch Silverfast 8 x64 from the Launcher. However, if I click on the Silverfast 8 icon on my desktop, the program launches properly.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Whats the optical resolution of Epson V700

I wouldn't scan 35mm on this scanner, it loses too much. Not sure I agree with this statement. I've exhibited and sold 16"x24" prints from 35mm scanned on my V750 without issue. Yes, the files look different (softer?) from those scanned on a Nikon, but the Nikon film scanners are no longe...

Re: OS X Lion and Localization

Your Epson 4180 is more than "a few" years old. It was released in 2003, and was replaced by the 4490 in 2005.

If it does a perfectly good job, why not keep on rocking and rolling with Silverfast 6.6?

Re: Whats the optical resolution of Epson V700

Here are the common resolutions I use for archival purposes by film format: - 35mm / up to 6400ppi - 120 / up to 4800ppi - 4x5 / up to 2400ppi Notice I say "up to" as every image will not benefit from these resolutions. It depends on the film type, format, emulsion, image focus, etc. 80% o...

Re: OS X Lion and Localization

Going back shuold be the best option - oh and for the pros: to update a workstation a couple of day after a new Os release, what the hell you we're thinking???. This is exactly what the hell I was thinking... 1) 64-bit Performance Gains (Time is Money) 2) Multi-tasking (again, Time is Money) 3) Wor...

Re: OS X Lion and Localization

First, I agree with andifor regarding the requests for free upgrades to 8. The folks at Lasersoft Imaging have been hard at work for some time on the next release, no doubt about it. They deserve to be compensated for their efforts. However, given the current situation, a 30-day, limited functionali...

Re: OS X Lion and Localization

Alejandro, you never contacted me through my website. I have no email records indicating any contact was ever made. I also contacted Karl-Heinz Zahorksy, who repeatedly told me I would included in the beta testing program and that someone (anyone?) from Lasersoft would contact me. To date, no contac...

Locking Posts

Alejandro, Locking posts and limiting discussion with your customer base is the Internet equivalent of "taking your ball and going home". If Lasersoft Imaging doesn't wish to admit they screwed up with their latest announcements of Silverfast and Lion compatibility, fine. It's a hell of a ...

Re: OS X Lion and Localization

Could you please direct me to that part? Oh, I don't know Alejandro, how about the last paragraph on the latest Silverfast Blog post, dated July 20th?: http://blog.silverfast.com/silverfast-8/ Users who want to work with SilverFast right now can take current version 6.6 without experiencing any dis...

Re: Cannot embed an ICC profile

You have to choose the correct type of original first.

If your original type is set to positive, you cannot change/select options in the CMS panel which affect negative originals.

Re: OS X Lion and Localization

Eric, Apple "just" (as in two days ago) updated the drivers for Canon printers and all-in-ones for OSX. Canoscan drivers were NOT part of this update. Keep an eye out for a separate scanner driver update from Canon in the future - I would think it couldn't be too far behind.
