Hi juergen,

The weather is beautiful at the moment in North Carolina but I've decided to stay inside scanning with Lasersoft. How are things going with you?

Excuse me for butting in but I have to say that I have never received a response from the support email service. I cannot say how many times I've tried, three or four I would say. It doesn't take long to realize that there is not going to be any help from that end and so the obvious recourse is to u...

Hi Sonny, Excuse me for the delay, I fell off my chair when I saw your note. You will remember that all my problems are with Negafix using version 6.X on a PIE 1800 slide/negative scanner. Windows 98SE and the Twain version of SF. I'm using ThumbsPlus to acquire the scans and organize the images, Ph...

Well, I was a little hasty. It seems that the greens are remaining in good shape when the final scan is created but blues are becoming very pale and reds are going pink. If it's any help, the dust and scratch preview window also looks as bad as the final scan. The preview is fine. I just downloaded ...

6.2.0r1 works!

Hi, I've complained often enough about the poor color performance of the 6.x versions of SilverFast compared to the 5.5.x series on my PIE 1800 scanner. Now it looks like you've fixed it! For the first time in SF6 my final scans using the twain driver on a Windows 98 PC are a close approximation to ...

Version6.1.0r3

Please excuse the length of this message but I have been frustrated with SF Ai version 6 for it's entire history and I would now like to vent a little. I am using a Windows 98 SE system with a PIE 1800u scanner. The Twain version of SilverFast Ai is used with ThumbsPlus as the calling program. All s...

New 6.02r42(AFL)

Hi Again, It's nearly ready! I tried the new version yesterday and, in terms of basic functionality, version 6 is almost back to the level of the late version 5's. I'm using a PIE 1800u with Windowes 98SE and lots of memory. However, using the twain driver the final scan is unusable as it bears no r...

Kian, I have the scanner you describe, except mine is marketed by Pacific Image Electronics (PIE) 1800 (u,s,p all the same) it is also sold by Scanace so you can find reviews under all of those brands. Here are two: http://aroundcny.com/technofile/texts/tec081901.html http://www.usefilm.com/forums.p...

That's a bit odd. I didn't realize that all the links pointed to SDR. Maybe add an explanation to the effect that even though I though I was going to .... I should really be interested in SDR.

Yes Indeed. Also I might make a suggestion that occurred to me after I submitted my earlier post. Customer relations are the key to successful marketing. So, if someone asks a technical question why not paste this into your reply: "Thanks for your interest in SilverFast. I have forwarded your query ...

Kodak Gold 800

I didn't see any profiles for Kodak Gold 800 in the recent list of profiles. Currently I'm finding that negatives from a Gold 800 film shot about 2 years ago are unscanable. Generally the green channel is missing from the scanned image. Fiddling around with film position may result in a full color c...

Based on my own experience and from what I have read in these messages it seems that many users get little or no response from the support line and resort to these forums to try and get help. Because the support servive offered here is far more responsive and helpful than the "official" mechanism th...

Stan, Did/do you have a demo version of the program installed? This happened to me for weeks and it turned out that the demo didn't uninstall properly and then the retail version would not install with the same type of message you are getting. I finally fixed it by going through the registry deletin...

ACR warning

Would it be possible to turn the color correction button pink when ACR is activated? I hardly ever use ACR but sometimes I try it for different effects. If I accidentally leave on there's no way to tell and the scans are then quite altered without any warning that they have been subjected to ACR. NM...
