Not sure where to go from here, but I'll start by taking the scanner to Nikon. Perhaps the green channel is not working properly.

Nils- No matter which way I attempt to scan negatives, it does not work. Period. I cannot scan negatives. If I attempt to preview the entire strip, I get "Cannot Focus". Also, as you see in the screenshot, I also cannot scan slide film. I get the terrible magenta image you see in the shot....

Downloaded v**s**n Demo & there were no problems. Then went back to Silverfast and got the same issue all over again. Very strange. No idea what's up...?

Yeah..if you look at the histogram, the cast is already at zero. I also removed any cast from the slider in Levels. No, this is way more than a cast. This is a missing channel issue. I'm just not sure if it's hardware or software.

I think it's all working now. However, I cannot get the newly upgraded Epson 4990 to serialize now. I does appear in the "Universal" startup, but only works in Demo mode.
