How can I reduce the number of ADF scans down from pre-defined 6 scans per ADF.
My strips usually have 3 or 4 slides instead of the 6 pre-defined in SF 8, but SF8 always tries to scan 6 slides. This leads to the last slide being scanned three times before the job is notified as complete.
Obviously, this results in a waste of scanning and computing time.

By default SilverFast starts with the setting of 6 images per film.
As soon as you put the film strip into the scanner and launch the Overview button, the scanner counts the images that are really present on the film and gives that information to SilverFast. When you leave the Overview Dialogue afterwards, the ADF scan will only scan as many images as there really are on the film.
