When I load a 5 negative filmstrip into my Reflecta RPS 10M filmscanner and click on "overview" the first negative is usually pretty well positioned after the overview preparation scans are finished.
However the last negative on the filmstrip has an offset. If I select the last negative and adjust the offset, so that this one is now perfectly positioned, the first negative does end up with an offset.
No matter what I do, there is an offset remaining on the one or the other side of the filmstrip. The offset is increasing for every negative further away from the well positioned one.
Obvioulsy the scanner is forwarding the nagatives with a wrong step size.
1. Is there a possibillity to adjust this in Silverfast ?
There is a very pronounced edge on both sides of the negatives and a clearly detectable small area in between the negatives.
2. Why does Silverfast not automatically detect the step size in the overview preparation scan ?
Also when I select to adjust the offset in the overview dialog, I can only shift the negative to the left. There is no way to shift the negative to the right.
This is a pain if you happened to move the negative a little bit too far to the left in the first attempt and want to correct this.
3. Why is it not possible to adjust the offset by moving the negative to the right ?
Best regards
Thomas

Re: RPS 10M negative filmstrip positioning
Dear Thomas,
You can move the Offset into the opposite direction by holding the Shift-key.
The film movement itself is controlled by the scanner. SilverFast can only adjust the general film position for this device.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
