Dear Sir,

I own a MF 5000 scanner, and I met many problems with it : there was a huge banding trouble, and I discovered a lighting problem wich was not uniform : a part of a 120 scan was too dark.

I suppose that those problems explain the late for Silverfast to launch his soft for this scanner.

Ì wrote to Reflecta to inform about banding and lighting problems. And they sent to me a new scanner instead of the old one. And I was happy to see that every trouble were fixed with this new scanner. No banding, and perfect lighting system.
And they created a new firmware for it.

So, with those new elements, I hope that you'll be able to launch your soft soon, because Silverfast is the only way to do a good job with this scanner. Without it, I cannot use it seriously.
Please, be (Silver)fast!

The current issue of the german Color Foto journal presents with a MF 5000 lab test, concluding that this device could be even more worthy if Lasersoft came out with a proper software. Months of development have gone now, the community is still waiting and the only thing we hear is the postponing high noise level statement. Even no comment on the latest MF 5000 firmware update. In all: did you discard the whole project?

Dear SIr,
I noticed this morning that Silverfast 8 is now available for the MF 5000, wich is a great new!
I downloaded the demo soft, in order to try it, but there is a huge bug : impossible to do a preview.
The scanner works, but there isn't any image at all on the preview window (there is a completely white or black image, in negative or positive). Even in 35mm and 120 format, even in positive or negative.

I ckecked with v**s**n, and Cyberview, it works.

I downloaded the lastest firmware from Reflecta, and installed it successfully with Cyberview. And with Silverfast, none preview nor scan possible.

I use a Mac with 10.6.8.

Help!

And I forgot to tell that I use Silverfast in 32 bits mode.

Hi there,

The scanner and the software have been extensively tested. Perhaps there might be a problem with the version you downloaded. Please uninstall the software and try downloading the installer again (cleaning the temp files of your browser first), install SilverFast and try it again.

Kind regards

Thank you for your answer.
I followed your advice, but the problem is still there.
I can't use Sf at all, and I'm sad!

Hi there,

thanks for your information. We could effectively find the same problem and are already working on a solution. Please download the software on next friday again, I believe by then this issue must be solved.

Kind regards

Hi there
I just bought a new reflecta MF 5000 with this software and after scanning normally 35mm negatives, when trying the same with 120 film it just can't even do the preview. Did anyone have the same problem or does anyone know why could this be happening?

thanks in advance

Dear customer,

This issue can be caused by an outdated firmware.
Please make sure that your scanner has the latest firmware installed.
You can download the firmware (a 64kb .bin file) from the manufacturer's website and upload it to the scanner through the CyberView Help menu.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

when using "Tools>Calibrate CCD..." it takes long time and at the end it says:

"scanner calibratino was not successful! Please remove the film holder and rerun the calibration"

but scan is empty :/

Dear customer,

Have you made sure that the latest firmware is installed, like described above?
This can happen when an old Firmware is installed.
Please also test if the sensor calibration works from the CyberView software.
Sometimes the scanner has to be initialized there.
Afterwards the sensor calibration should also work in SilverFast.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
