Reflecta DiaDigit 4000 / 3000 Dias ok - suddenly hangs up

Hi, :cry:
I'm using a brand new refledta DigitDia4000. It worked properly for approx. 4000 Dias (Slides). Suddenly the software stops after calibrating. During "preparing scan" the software hangs.
Background: Win XP / USB 1.0 / The scanner ist recognized by the software.
The scanner works properly attatched to other computers.
The scanner works properly with Cyber view.
Deleting the directory prefs as mentioned in the FAQ doesn't help.
Update from silverfast doesn't help.
New installation doesn't help.
Can anyone help?
