Hello,
I bought the Braun Multimag Slidescan 6000 with SF 8.0 Studio. I have a problem and can not sort this out! I searched several forms but did not find an article with the same problem...
I use magazines with 50 color slides. When the first 6, 8 or 7 slides are scanned, the scanner stucks on the last slide with "scanning...99%" over and over again... The scanners makes still the sound if it is scanning. When i abord the scan and look at the two or three scans before the last scan i see that the scanned images are distorted. See attachement:
The slides before the distorted slides are OK. I have to restart the scanner again and also SF. This is not why i bought this scanner for. My intention was to scan a magazine in one time and not have to sit down hoping the scanner scans the next slide without problems and if not to restart everything over and over again. I use the settings as shown in the attachement.
I hope you can give me any suggestions.
I use W7 64, have 8GB memory and enough space.
Thanks
Henri

Re: problems with images and scanning
Dear Henri,
Was iSRD active during these scans?
This looks like artifacts which occur when the infrared channel is somehow not usable for correction.
This normally occurs with very dense emulsions (like B&W film) .
In your case however it looks kind of strange to me.
Your second image even shows that iSRD was not active.
Is that true?
Have you tried resetting SilverFast through the welcome screen's service dialog?
If not please do so.
Please also test if CyberView shows similar issues.
Make sure that your scanner has the latest firmware installed.
The firmware (a 64kb .bin file) can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website and transferred to the scanner through the "Help" menu in CyberView.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
