Banding since upgrade to

Postby xtolsniffer » Thu Jul 06, 2017 5:11 pm

I was scanning in some Ilford HP5 today on my Reflecta RPS7200 under Silverfast Ai Studio. I've never had any problems with it before, but today I noticed some banding on the negative. I couldn't see this on the lightbox, so tried scanning in Silverfast on an Epson V700, no banding, so back to the RPS7200 under the native (and pretty primitive) Cyberview X5, and again no banding. The banding occurs in exactly the same place on all negatives. The only thing that has changes is that before scanning I upgraded to version 8.8.0r9. Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Also, when using SRDx, if I set the tile size to too low a value, Silverfast crashes (this happens with both the RPS7200 and the V700.

System is a Windows 10 Pro machine, i5-3340M CPU at 2.7 GHz 8 GB RAM and 64 bit OS.

Dear user,

Please make sure the scanner has the latest firmware installed. The firmware (a 64kb size .bin file) can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website and transferred to the scanner through the CyberView Help menu.

We will check regarding the SRDx issue in our testing center.

Kind regards,
Arne

Thanks for the reply. The firmware is already the latest version, but I went into the service dialog option at startup and selected the software reset and that worked, the banding has gone. Not sure what that did or why it worked, but it did.

I haven't checked to see if that has also stopped the SRDx problem of the crash when selecting a small tile size though.
