I have an old SprintScan 4000 (SCSI) that I recently upgraded from SilverFast version 5.2. to version 6.4.3r9
I have a small number of color negatives (Reala 100) that I have always had problems scanning. I've had to do the bulk of my corrections in PhotoShop to get a usable image. Even then I've never been happy with the images.
Recently I installed version 6.4.3r6b on my Epson 2450 flatbed scanner to scan 21/4 slides.
Frustrated with the quality from the SprintScan I scanned one of my problem images (35 mm) on the Epson. I used NegaFix and the Fuji Reala 100 Profile. I was shocked when the preview image opened. The image looked perfect.
Based on this I downloaded the new version of Silverfast to upgrade my old SprintScan. But after installing it and opening it I can't find I profile for Reala 100. On the Epson it's located under Fuji - Superia - Reala 100.
this profile is missing from the new version I've installed on my Polaroid 4000. How do I install this profile on my Polaroid 4000?
Also, should I expect the image from the SprintScan to match the Epson if the same NegaFix profile is used?
Thanks

Dear ChrisCor
the Negafix profiles are created individually for scanners to get the best results. Thus, you unfortunately cannot make use of the SF-Epson profile with the Polaroid scanner.
However, I shall request an update of the Polaroid Sprintscan 4000 profile list accordingly.
Please note that you can create new profiles for yourself.
The PDF and Ian Lyon's guide will help you to put you on the track:

Hi Sonny,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
My previous version of SilverFast ( 5.2) had a profile for Reala 100. The profile is also listed as one of the available film profiles on your website.
http://www.silverfast.com/show/negafixprofiles/en.html
Obviously because of this I expected to have use of this profile when I upgraded to the new version of SilverFast.
How long will it take to upgrade the profile list?
Best regards
Chris

Dear Chris
a profile has been generated meanwhile. I am trying to learn right now in which update release it will become available. Stay tuned... :)
Thanks and best regards

Thanks Sonny,
Which profile are you referring to? Profiles for Superia 100 and Reala 100 are missing. I did receive an e-mail that I could find a profile for Reala under Fuji - other - Reala 100, but as a previous poster pointed out "the colors are pretty wacked out!"

I'd have to agree. The profile for Reala under "other" adds a severe red cast to the images. Even the profile for Reala on my old version of Silverfast was better than this.
Thanks
Chris
