Are there any advantages of one over the other? For example, I have learned that the twain installation can't pass along the file name entered in Silverfast to Photoshop. Furthermore, the twain installation can't be used with the stand alone application. Are there any other differences? I just upgraded to the Polaroid 5.5 twain installation and am wondering whether I should have chosen the plugin. Thanks for all observations.

The most important advantage of the PhotoShop plugin is the reliability of color managment, if the plugin is used toghether with PhotoShop or any other host application that supports color managment. In that case and if the color managment settings in both the host and the plugin are synchronized, you will see the same colors in the SilverFast preview and in the final scan.

Eric.
