sprintscan 120 on intel mac mini

Postby rgoldman » Wed Sep 19, 2007 9:35 pm

The startup disk that came with my Sprintscan 120 cannot be read by my new Intel Mac Mini, but I see that I can upgrade my Silverfast from v6 to the newest one which is compatible with the Intel Macs. Does Silverfast actually drive the Sprintscan, so that the scanner will work on the Intel Mini despite not having Polaroid supplied drivers? In other words, can I install the appropriate Silverfast and simple connect (via firewire) my 120 to the Mac Mini and expect it will work? I am happy to buy the upgrade but only if it will make the scanner work in my new set up. Any answers from this forum are appreciated. Thanks

Hello rgoldman,

If nothing else you might be able to download the trial version of SilverFast and find out the answer.

Dear rgoldman,

as RAG supposed you may give the SilverFast demo a try.
I think it will work, as SilverFast indeed directly talks with the scanner, without the Polaroid driver needed.

Best regards
Martin
