I recently upgraded my Mac G3 to OS 9.1.
I am using Photoshop 5.5, with Silverfast Ai 5.x installed as a plug-in. The preview scan works, but when I do the main 'Scan RGB', the whole system freezes up, and I have to re-boot.
When I used this same Mac with an earlier version of Mac OS (8.1), and using the same Photoshop 5.5, and same Silverfast plug-in, this trouble never happened. There were a few glitches yes, but never this terrible freezing up problem.
Any suggestions would be gladly welcomed.
Thanks

Problem solved
I am posting this in case anyone has similar problems. I found that I could make scans with my Sprint Scan 4000 when doing smaller sized scans.
I usually do scans 300 ppi at 10 inches, and when I tried this after uppgrading my Mac OS to 9.1, my sytem froze during the scanning.
I tried a tes, doing a scan @ 228 ppi at 10 inches, the scanner worked fine. This only means one thing - a memory problem. So the solution is to put more memory in my machine.
I guess when I upgraded my system to Mac OS 9.1, more memory is now used, and the reason why I could no longer scan high rez files.
