Prescan of 35mm positive transparency is very dark

Postby Jim » Mon Sep 01, 2003 1:34 am

Polaroid SS 120, Windows XP Home, SilverFast Ai 6 (not the update with bugs) installed as a PhotoShop 7 plugin, firewire

Lately the prescans of my slides are considerably darker than the lightbox brightness. I have to adjust every one of them manually using curves before the final scan. Should not the prescan have the same brightness as the original transparency? What might be the problem here? I don't recall having this problem when I originally installed the software and did the IT8 calibration (C-Roes). Can't figure what might have changed. Appreciate any advice. Thanks. BTW the SS 120 native Polacolor scanning software produces a prescan of normal brightness.

The brighness is related to the Monitor and to the set Gamme (Options). Please increase the Gamma, if you like to have the picture brighter.
The Lightbox and the scan should have the same colors. The brightness is in this case not important.

kind regards
