MicroTek EEPROM in Polaroid Software issue?

Postby Tariq » Fri Jan 27, 2006 7:26 pm

First of all, I just want to thank both Lasersoft, Umax/MicroTek for making it possible for us Polaroid SprintScan 120 owners to be able to upgrade our Chips. Microtek in the U.S. would not do anything but I recieved great support through Umax/MicroTek Germany and have just installed the EEPROM and am now using the 1.7 Firmware and the most current Silverfast Version for OS X. Problem is that when using the standard Medium Format Carrier with my 6x9 film, I'm only getting a prescan and scan for the first frame(no 1) even when I choose frame no. 2 in the software. Obviously, I suspected this may have something to do with the transplant of the EEPROM so I downloaded MicroTeks Scanmaker software and it works fine, scanning either frame 1 or 2 as chosen. So, it would appear this is some sort of Software Glitch with Silverfast. Is it possible to download older versions of Silverfast so that I could see if an older version might not have this issue? Thanks.

Dear Tariq

recent tests with SilverFast 6.4.4r6 and a Microtek Artixscan 120 with firmware 1.70 showed no such problems when using a 6x9 multi-format holder with selecting alternating frames.

You might want to download and install the update, and then reset (by deletion of user-specific files) your version of SilverFast.
Resetting is done by deleting the folder /User/(your username)/Library/Preferences/LaserSoft Imaging while SF isn't running.
