No probs with scanner running with Mac OS 10.3.4 with Ai6 v6.1.0r4 and Photoshop CS - until yesterday. Halfway through final scan of 35mm neg and the image stopped building leaving the spectrum wheel spinning - I clicked on the cancel button and finally it loaded the half frame with a neat black vertical line where it came to a halt.
I upgraded to v6.2.1r5 and scanned some 35mm E6 at 48bit - really good - then started on a col neg job and the same happened . . .
Can anyone suggest anything - is there a hardware diagnostics anywhere I can run on it ?
Any helpful suggestions please.
Help - Pol SS120 halts during final scan of 35mm negs only
Dear DAVT
please note that SilverFast 6.1.0r4 is not regarded as compatible with Photoshop CS by LaserSoft Imaging.
Therefore, it basically was a good idea to install the latest release.
However, it sometimes occurs that some files cannot be overwritten.
I suggest you try to complete de-install your SilverFast software and re-install the downloaded update again.
Mac OS X does not yet offer uninstall routines. Simply navigate to the folder SilverFast was installed into and remove the files and folders named SilverFast and LaserSoft.
These could be located in:
/Applications/LaserSoft
/Applications/Photoshop/Plugins/Import-Export/
/User/(your username)/Library/Preferences/LaserSoft Imaging/
After a new installation everything should work to your liking.
However, if the problem persists, please don't hesitate to contact LaserSoft Imaging support staff: https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
I would appreciate if you could paste a fresh copy of the SF_Logfile in the problem report.
Thanks in advance for your co-operation.

I have been having exactly the same problem, using the latest SF 6.2.2.r1. However, the scanner also stalls with the latest v**s**n, so I doubt that the scanner software is the issue in my case.
The puzzling thing is that I have two SS120 scanners in my classroom and one works fine. I've switched computers and the non-working scanner still stalls half way through the scan, even after I updated its firmware to 1.33, the latest.
This does not strike me as a mechanical defect, but on the other hand all the other possibilities seem to have been eliminated. Polaroid does not support their scannners on Panther, unfortunately.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
