Help- film strip re-position/offset button does not work
Help- film strip re-position/offset button does not work
This is very frustrating as I have spent countless hours trying to get this much needed feature to work(the film offset/image repositioning button). I have even went so far as to do a complete re-install of Panther and Photoshop CS on a clean partition after deleting preferences on my main drive made no difference. As it is, I must constantly take the film strips out and physically reposition them, turn them upside down, use 6x7 or 6x9 frames on my 6x6 frames and Hope and Pray that somehow I can get the whole image in my prescan window. This has to be the biggest waste of time in the history of scanning and one that should not be present in a muture program such as Silverfast(which I have used now for about 5 years with various scanners). I have sent two requests to support thus far with no reply as yet from my first email for help one week ago. If anyone knows a solution to getting the offset/film re-postion button to work correctly, I would be most appreciative.

Dear Tariq,
I sent you the following answer to your query on 7/5, and again today, on 7/12. My e-mails were not returned- please make sure our answer did not get held up by a spam- filter or similar:
"Dear Tariq,
I actually mentioned this to our developers a while ago. I think this feature "accidentally" made it into the software, and here is why:
The Polaroid 120 never had a filmstrip offset function- it was not possible on the hardware- side to implement this function.
After Polaroid went out of the scanner business, Microtek picked up the design and released it as the Artix scan 120TF. This scanner did not have a filmstrip-offest out-of the box either.
Shortly after its release, Microtek released a new Firmware for this scanner. The new firmware supports the glass- film holders they are offering as well, and filmstrip offset. SilverFast supports the offset as well.
The main problem is that this firmware was never released for the original Polaroid 120. By using the function in our software, the software will sends commands to the scanner, which the scanner does not understand, so it won't work.
At this point, I think the only solution for us is to remove the icon in SilverFast, since the function does not operate, unless Polaroid would release new firmware for this scanner. So far, it does not seem they're interested, though..."
