I am brand new to SF, with a new Polaroid SS4000. I upgraded today to SF Ai 5.5.
Can I get the TWAIN SF to hand over a 48-bit scan to Picture Window Pro, which I have been using as my image editor? It seems to want to give only 24-bit color to PWP.
I see HDR 48-bit option, which I just read is a raw scan, negative mask and all. What is it for, and can I use it in my image editor PWP?
As a real beginner to SF, I am trouble getting "the big picture" with regard to its interface, multiple controls, etc.
Thanks.........Julian

48 bit not supported by TWAIN so far
TWAIN is a standard which is not supporting 48 bit data so far, as well as many applications in the windows world do not.
To use 48 bit properly you have to use SilverFast Ai Photoshop Plug-in and could either scan directly to disk with 48 bit or use SilverFast Ai Photoshop plug-in to scan into Photoshop, which supports 48 bit.
SilverFast HDR has full support for 48 bit file processing. Read the tutorials of Ian Lyons on 48 bit (high bit scans) and HDR: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/sf5_contents.htm
