Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
Does r15 include the new 64-bit OS X drivers from Plustek? And if not just exactly how long will it be till it does?

Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
Does r16 include the new 64-bit OS X drivers from Plustek? And, again, if not can someone provide an update for how long will it be till it does?
BTW, if the Development History said something other than "General bugfixes" we wouldn't have to bother anyone to ask what was fixed. It's doubly frustrating to never know just exactly what was fixed since many times it is helpful to know if we still have the bug, if updating will help, or did something else in our system address the problem.

Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
Any news? This is taking too long time. A bit of transparency on what's actually going on wouldn't hurt. Scanner is basically useless without this driver update.

Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
have you still no news about the compatibility of Plustek, Silverfast and MAC OS?
I find big differences between the different releases, so I am not convinced that Silverfast cannot effect the issue without Plustek's help !
s20 is very bad for OS maybe 1 from 20 trys at 3600dpi work, strangely the IR scan is worse effected than the light scan, that means many times the scan is 50% complete and you have to stop it
The bug that the software hangs when you are too quick restarting after stopping the scan is gone but also the canceled message in the scanner status window, so you are not sure when you can re-start the scan
I can recommend R18 as the most suitable version for MAC OS, although I missed the R19 release
Is Siverfast really sure that they cannot alter it, the warm up phase (Immediatly after pressing the scan button) is sometimes very quick, could this be a part of the problem?
many thanks
Andy

Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
Dear Andy,
The new drivers are now included in SilverFast.
In case you still experiance any issues please delete the "Plustek****.framework" folder from the "Library/Frameworks" directory.
Then reinstall the latest SilverFast update.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
HI Im having the same problems. Plustek 7500i with Silver fast 8 on OS 9 Mavericks.
Scans with a lot of white are clipping far more than the original transparency. Seems accurate on normally exposures.
And every 3rd of 4th scan is running slow. I have to quite out ice usually, sometimes only once to fix.
I tried your workaround, but now sure what you gained from installing new drivers then deleting the framework.
Did you do this one:
OpticFilmSeries_Mac_Update.zip
12/06/2011
MAC 10.5/10.6/10.7
3372kb zip
http://plustek.com/uk/support/drivers-a ... loads.html
Was the old framework that you got from your backup working with SF 6.6.?
Ive got a backup from earlier this year. Ill give it a try?
Cheers Kris

Thanks Arne,
I did the workaround, and it worked!!!
Fantastic. No slow scans, and no overexposed whites.
Thanks,
Cheers Kris

Dear customer,
OSX 10.7 and higher requires at least SilverFast 8.0.
Which scanner are you using?
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
I have a plustek OpticFilm 120. I do not see a driver labeled for this scanner in the System Information report although I do see drivers for other plustek scanners, as shown in the attached screen capture.
I see the same in Library/Frameworks. I manually deleted seven plustek scanner frameworks, then reinstalled.SilverFast 8.0.1r54(plustek). After the reinstall, still no framework specifically for the OpticFilm 120. Silverfast runs, but I have had many issues. I wonder if Silverfast is using a framework intend for a different model of scanner. How can I determine what framework SilverFast is using on my system?

Re: SilverFast 8 - Mac OS X - drivers
Dear customer,
the driver should be called PLK_A120.framework.
It is included in the SilverFast installation.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
