SF Launcher failed message windows 8.1

Reloaded the LaserSoft software on my new Windows 8.1 64 bit machine awhile back. I had to install the 32 Bit ver 6.6 to get it to work again. It was working fine for sometime but now I get SF Launcher Failed Message and it won't start.

Any Ideas suggestions?

Dear customer,

SilverFast 6.6 unfortunately is not supported under Windows 8.1.

I did resolve the problem by running the SF Launcher in Windows 7 mode. The Quick scan and Intelli scan buttons don't work so I simply start from the shortcut on the desktop.
