I just purchased a plustek 7600i, silverfast 8.0.1r19 which I'm using with a MacBook Pro running 10.8.
I'm having a strange problem. I scanned a Kodak B&W Tri-X negative. Everything worked perfect.
I went to scan the next image, and the prescan looked fine. When I hit the "Scan" button, the resulting image looked positive/negative inverted... that is to say it looks like a negative that was scanned as a positive.
iSRD is off. I've looked everywhere in the settings to see if I can find the setting to put this back in proper order. I have NegaFix set with the proper Kodak/Tri-X/400 settings (but if I use another black and white film profile, I have the same problem). If I switch over and scan a color positive (making the requesite change from "negative" to "positive") then everything works perfect. Then I go back to my B&W negative, and I've got the same problem.
Anybody have an idea what the issue is? Thanks in advance.
Brent

Dear Brent,
Please make sure you do not have a 16/48/64bit HDR(i) output format selected.
These are raw image formats for our ArchiveSuite workflow and need to be processed in SilverFast HDR Studio.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: prescan looks good, scan in positive/neg inverted
Thanks for the reply, and your suggestion helped me solve the issue.
Actually, I had solved the issue on my own a few hours before and did not realize it. Even though the scanner *would* have scanned correctly, the pre-scan was still showing the same bizarre tonality. Once I actually did a scan then opened it back up, it was fine (and had been for some time), The pre-scan is broken, in that it does not show what the scan will/would look like. I consider this a bug in the software.
