artifacts Plustek 8200i

Postby awolf » Mon May 26, 2014 5:19 am

Im getting some strange artifacts while scanning with the Plustek 8200I and the the latest version of Silverfast 8.0.1r47
could this be a dirty sensor? and what is the best way to clean this thing? (see attached photos) i never had this happen before?

Dear customer,

Sorry I can not identify the issue you got by that image.
If you have questions about servicing your device please contact the manufacturer Plustek.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Hi LSI thank you sorry my second image did not upload which was an actual scan of a neg. the blue one was just a plain scan with out anything in the scanner to see what might pop up
I have since just done a reset of the software which seems to have solved the issue :o) very strange none the less, I have never seen jitter wavy lines before or large noise before (sort along the line of leaving the scanner in a dust storm) BUT this thing has always been good with dealing with dust (software and hardware) it "was" just one of those strange glitches you see once in a while.

Please contact us in case the issue returns.

And check if the effect might be caused by an electrical issue.
Sometimes fluorescent lights can cause strange effects if they are connected to the same power line.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
