What do I have bumpercars in my scanner now? I have to restart the scan software to can a nother few negatives. Can ANYONE help me get this software stabilized?

Dear DMT

please contact info@silverfast.com sending the SF_Logfile attached to your email request. Thanks very much in advance for your co-operation.

No log in the silverfast directory. I've done a search for this log and no avail. Ideas?

Dear DMT

depending on OS and installation method the SF_Logfile could reside in different places.
What do you use Win? Mac? What version of that OS?
Installed as TWAIN module, Photoshop Plugin and/or Stand-alone?

If you start SilverFast, an SF_Logfile is generated. Thus, if you experience "error at scan start" it should be somewhere.

You also could try using the search function of you OS (e.g. Start->Search..., via Windows Explorer, via Finder, and/or Sherlock) to locate a file.

On Windows XP the SF_Logfile usually resides in something like
/Program Files/Photoshop/Plug-Ins/Import-Export/SilverFast(xxx)
or directly in the Import-Export folder or
/Program Files/SilverFast or /Program Files/LaserSoft

It is a text file concerning information helpful in arranging a testbed similar to the configuration in which the error was experienced.
