I'm new to silverfast and just purchased a PrimeFilmXA (I think very similar to the 7350).
I've been struggling for quite a while trying to figure out the proper way to load a film strip and align the frames. I can do this manually using the buttons on the scanner, but reading other posts suggests I should just load the strip and press 'overview'. But when I do this the actual frames are split between overview frames. I suspect the Adjust Offset option in the overview window may be used for this purpose but I can't seem to figure out the procedure for making the adjustment (an icon of a pointing hand just pops up). I can't find any documentation whatsoever on this process either.
I think I'm missing something very basic here, please help. The attached screenshot shows what I'm seeing.

Re: Split negatives in overview / how to load film strips
Dear Joe,
The scanner detects the first image of a filmstrip using the unexposed film material in front of it.
If that is not possible it sometimes detects a wrong film beginning.
The Film offset is the right way to correct this.
Click the Adjust offset button.
The view will switch to the current preview where you can click on the beginning of the image to correct the position.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Actually talking with PIE support looks like I've got a bad unit with a defective feeder mechanism. It simply doesn't feed the entire negative width every time. Guess I'll be returning it.

@photojoe:
How did you figure out your unit was bad? What were the symptoms? Having similar issues with my new PrimeFilm XA.
