Hi
I have downloaded both the Photoshop plug-in and Twain versions of Silverfast AI for the 1800AFL to try. However, when I try to import using either option I get a message saying that the scanner can't be found, even though it is there and CyberView 35 is working correctly.
I would appreciate some advice here as I have read excellent things about Silverfast and am interested in buying.
Am I missing something simple? The Twain version gives an additional message to make sure there is a valid source for the scanner in the Twain directory.
Cheers
Ken

Dear Kjude,
did you restart your computer after the SilverFast installation?
What is your operating system?
Did you check out our FAQ sites?

Hi
Thanks for responding.
I am running Win Me (Version 4.90 , Build 3000) although the Silverfast Log text file calls it Windows 98 (Version 4.90 , Build 3000). I also have the latest version of the CyberView35 software installed.
I have uninstalled and re-booted, and re-installed and rebooted but the problems still remain.
I have checked the FAQ. I have the latest versions of the Aspi layers installed (4.6 for Win Me I believe) and the device shows correctly (and working correctly) within the Control Panel Device Manager.
Cheers
Ken

It's all gone quiet, and after an intitial response via email from someone in support I've not heard back from my subsequent email either.
Is everyone on holiday? I notice that if you follow the links to prices for Silverfast for the 1800AFL and the 3600 there are no prices showing. Maybe these two scanners are not yet supported after all?

Dear Kjude,
we have two support addresses: one in Europe and one in USA, If you send e-mail to support refering to forum entries like yours, please mention this in your e-mail otherwise nobody in our support can guess that you had a history on your issue in the forum.
Let us start troubleshooting this: Your scanner is a Prime Film 1800 AFL, correct?
please let your Windows system search for a text file called "SF_logfile.txt" and send this to clovis.koehler@silverfast.com
I have exactly the same problem. I have a new PIE 1800AFL and one evening's struggle is enough to make me hate CyberView, so I want to try Silverfast, but it can't find my scanner... both on a Sony Viao notebook (direct) and on a Dell 8100 (via a USB hub) both runnign Win XP.
I have been in touch with Kristian Kratzenstein ay Lasersoft Germany, but no luck yet.
