UMAX 270 mirror

Hi!

I bought a UMAX Powerlook 270 2 weeks ago incl. Silverfast 6 (by the way: really a great program)

Everything works fine (WinXP, Athlon 2000+, 512MB)

But I found something is strange.
When I scan an image Silverfast mirrors to get the correct orientation of the picture....I also find it confusing to have two buttons not really doing the same or having the same effect on the preview.
(mirror in the toolbar and in the Desitometer window)

any explanations?!

The icons beside the prescan, flip and rotate the entire prescan. The icons in the densitometer flip and rotate a single frame.

Hi!

Thanx for your reply. Now I understood, what the differences are. But still. I insert my Filmframe correctly but it is stilll mirroring the picture even though it got scanned with the right orientation.

This means that the film is not in the correct position. In fact, even if the frame is not flipped in the densitometer (the buttons are not red) and the image preview is flipped, the scan frame will not be flipped.

There is still room for improvements to make it more intuitive.

Well, the film is inserted correctly. and I reseted silverfast. The picture is scanned from right to left. Could this be a reason, why this has to been mirrored. Is that a problem with the Umax Powerlook 270 Scanner?!
