hi, is there any plan to include my scanner on the silverfast8 list of supported devices?
I had to change my mac and now with lion I'm no more able to scan my negs.

I have to know if I must substitute the scanner or is just a matter of time.

Of cause we also want to support the RPS 7200 in SilverFast 8.
But currently we are waiting for external data required to access the drivers.
So at this moment I can not give a date on which the support will be available.

I have a reflecta CrystalScan 7200 which I have been unable to use since Lion OX was released. Will a version of Silverfast 8 be released for this scanner, and if so can you give me an indication of when? Thank you for your consideration.

I also bought Reflecta CrystalScan 7200 and intended to buy SilverFast. It was very displeasing to learn the latest version of SilverFast is not supporting my scanner and the old SilverFast version 6 does not support Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.

From this thread, it appears LaserSoft does not intend to support for CrystalScan 7200 as the discussion goes back to October 11, last year - it's been almost half a year and there is nothing but empty promises by LaserSoft guys. How disappointing

We do intend to support the scanner model in question under SilverFast 8. As a matter of fact the scanner is in the testing stagest.

as the discussion goes back to October 11, last year - it's been almost half a year and there is nothing but empty promises by LaserSoft guys.

Implementing a scanner in a new operating system is a task that requires more than simply a will to do it. One needs new drivers for the implementation. These are almost never available and have to be developed and provided by the scanner manufacturer (not by LaserSoft Imaging).

Exactly that was the situation with this scanner. So even if we want to, a fast implementation is not always possible.

Can we be confident that the RPS 7200 will follow soon ? Would be nice because it seems to be the only Scanner in this price segement with automatic negative feeding - and I depend on a OS X Lion solution.
