Hello all,
recently I've bought a RPS 7200 with silverfast Ai. While checking the iSRD function I realized that the effect is quite small and a scan with 7200dpi takes about 20 min. Compared with Cyberview and ICE3 the effect is significant better and a 7200 dpi scan take less than 2 min.
I'm very disappointed because a scan time of 20min with no or less effect don't come up to my expectations. Even the manual setting of iSRD don't improve the effect.
Silverfast was a major reason buying the bundle RPS/Silverfast.
Is there any problem between Silverfast and RPS 7200. The scan time of 20 min shouldn't be acceptable anyway. I use the lastest version of silverfast 6.5.5r4.
Is there a possibility to use ICE3 with silverfast.
Thanks in advance for hints and advices.
Regards
Stefan
Enclosed an example with ICE3 and iSRD.
Problems with iSRD and Reflecta RPS 7200

The PC should be fast enough.
DualCore 2,66 MHz, 2 GB memory
It seams to me, that there is a software bug, because the scanning takes no more than 2 min. The remaining 18 min takes iSRD.
I'm wondering that ICE3 is so much faster than iSRD. They talking about using similar procedures.
Does anybody have similar problems.

I'd like to know that, too.
Some weeks ago, I scanned 35mm positives (Ektachrome) showing a Budapest café interior which I photographed some 20 years ago. Due to the diapos age, iSRD had some work to do, as you may assume.
But eventually I canceled scanning for the overlong time each frame took. 20 minutes for one single frame seemed not to be appropriate.
Is there any prospect of healing?

Dear Hubertus,
We have improved iSRD contingently over the last yoer.
The working time greatly depends on the scanned resolution and 20 minutes can be quite realistic on high resolutions.
kind regards
