Hi:
I have been seeing great reviews on these film scanners regarding their speed and color fidelity. Is there any chance that Silverfast will support these scanners in the near future? I would like to buy these scanners but only if Silverfast supports them.

Regards,
Tristan

scanmulti pro and silverfast

You can integrate HDR with the scanmultipro by using your smpro twain driver with the colour management off and saving uncompressed tiff files to disk. Open the image in HDR and carry on with all the functions of silverfast.
It is also possible to set up colour management with the HDR IT8 option, individually profiled for your scanner. Just scan the IT8 target on your scanmultipro with all colour management /adjustment turned off in the minolta driver. Save the file and import into HDR, then run the automated IT8 procedure and you've created an individual ITP8 calibration file for use in silverfast HDR. Make sure you do this for 8 bit 16 bit and 16 bit linear in the smpro driver. The colour is far more accurate than using the minolta canned profile supplied with colour management in the software driver.
Not as convenient as using silverfast directly as the scanner driver but still it makes this great scanner much more usable than the minolta software allows.
