HOWTEK 7500 / Maximum Scan Size...

Postby thinhle » Mon Aug 09, 2004 10:08 am

Hello,
I am trying out SFAi6 with my new Howtek 7500 scanner.
It looks like SFAi6 has a limit of 30000 pixels for each dimension because it doesn't let me scan more than 6 inches at 5000 dpi (30000 pixels). Please confirm if this is indeed a limitation or I am doing something wrong. I have 10 inches long negatives that I need to scan at 5000 dpi.
Thanks in advance.
Thinh

Dear Thinh,
the limitation you observe is correct. You should get an alert warning you about this.

Dear Martin,
Thanks for the answer. Does SilverFast have any plan to increase this limit? Older versions of Photoshop had this 30000 pixels limit also but the new Photoshop CS increases the value to 300000.

Dear Thinhle,
we will surely work on removing this limitation,
but we do not have a schedule for it, yet.
Best regards,
