Tiger iMac and Silverfast Ai Studio question

I have an intel iMac running Tiger OSX 10.4.11 and am planning to buy a Plustek OpticFilm 7600i Ai scanner which comes with Silverfast Ai Studio. I believe that this arrangement should work well but before I buy the scanner I would, very much, appreciate confirmation of that. I am a little concerned about the problems another poster (Sunbear) has been having with regard to Silverfast slowing boot-up and shutdown of his Macbook. However he is running OSX 10.6.6. Am I likely to encounter this problem with OSX 10.4.11, and if so, how can I get round it?

Also I have a lot of Kodachrome slides to scan and intend to buy a Silverfast Kodachrome Calibration Target. Please can you tell me where I can buy, or order, one of these in the UK?

there is no problem, the scanner Plustek OpticFilm 7600i is working well on Mac OS X 10.4 with SilverFast.
