Snow Leopard Scanner sharing - can it be used?

Hi, and greetings from Athens.

Can one use SF with Leopard's "scanner sharing"? Here's the setup I have in mind -

- connect a Coolscan 9000 to a (slow) Powerbook with firewire
- enable scanner sharing
- run SilverFast on a (faster) computer withour firewire, and perform cpu-intensive tasks (e.g. iSRD) there

Is this possible?

Dear Xen,

unfortunately the scanner must be attached directly to run with SilverFast.
"Scanner Sharing" is not supported.
