Silverfast not playing nice

Mac tower running sierra , EPSON gt x830 , program gives me the message that it can't find my scanner and not to use external USB which I am not it's plugged into the back . I've updated everything I can find to update . And I am using the demo to evaluate the program. Three hours later I'm ready to return the scanner and try the canon 9000 mk2 .. any ideas , my computer does recognize the scanner and it shows up in viewscan ..

The gt-x830 unfortunately is not supported by SilverFast at this moment.
