Question about a Serial Key

Hi dear sirs,

i guess i have to ask a pretty silly-sounding question here. I bought a CanoScan 8800F quite some time ago and with it a german License Key for the Silverfast SE Scanning Utility. I had the license key on the paper cd sleeve in the box, which i now seem to have lost. I still have a running an registered version of the software on my running system, but i guess i will have to reinstall my OS in the nearer future. Is there any chance to hack into the files stored on my MacBook and regain the Serial i once used?

Dear Cenobyte,

If your software is still installed in your computer, you can retrieve the serial number.

-click the "i" button located on the upper left corner of the preview window
-press the button "credits"

The serial number will appear towards the end of the information dialogue.
