I used the demo months ago and quite liked it. I recently bought Silverfast 8 SE to use with my Epson Perfection v500 Photo. I was warned that the manufacturer has only provided a 32-bit framework for the scanner but went ahead anyway. Unfortunately, I discovered that Apple seems to have removed 32-bit support from OS X 10.10 entirely so there is no option to run the software in 32-bit mode.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Weirdly, Epson's own (inferior) scan utility works just fine.

Re: No 32-bit support on OS X 10.10
Dear customer,
OS X 10.10 still has 32 bit support.
Please make sure that you are logged in as an administrator.
Normal users might not see the option.
And make sure you click on the SilverFast 8 app inside the SilverFast 8 folder.
The folder is sometimes mistaken for the application because it too has the icon.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Thank you very much, Arne. You are correct. I feel embarrassed but I think I was looking at the 'Get Info' window in Path Finder instead of Apple's Finder.

Good to hear that you found your issue.
I do not use path finder so I did not think about the fact that you could be using a different file explorer.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
