Negative scanning not an option
I just purchased a MACbook Pro. I have an Epson Perfection 4870 scanner. After no luck scanning with the Epson soft wear that is on the Epson web site I downloaded a trial version of Silverfast Ai Studio. The positive scanning works fine but there is no option for scanning negatives. What am I doing wrong?

Dear myoscary,
I think you are scanning in reflective mode. You must switch to transparency mode to scan negatives.
Best regards

I am having the same problem on my V850 Pro using Silverfish 8 SE Plus. It won't let me drop down and choose the negative or slide selection.
It thinks everything is a reflective print.

Re: Negative scanning not an option
Dear customer,
Your scanner has lost it's connection to the transparency unit in the lid.
Please shut down SilverFast and the scanner. Then unplug and re-plug the cable connecting the transparency unit in the lid to the chassis of the scanner. Afterwards restart SilverFast and the transparency mode should be available again. If not please check if EPSON Scan Utility still can scan in transparency mode.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
