Not sure if this is a hardware or software problem. It appears Multiple Exposure (ME) scans are not working.
I am running OS X 10.11.1 (El Cap) and have the latest SilverFast Ai Studio (v8.5.0r9 build 15668) which includes the latest Plustek driver update that fixes the "Unknown Error" issue. I am using a Plustek 8200i scanner.
I am doing 3 pass 64 bit HDRi RAW scans of Kodachrome and Ektachrome slides. I noticed my scans were "too dark" and started to experiment with settings. When I turned ME off I noticed there is no difference in the resulting scan. Scanning a slide with ME on and then scanning the same slide again with ME off, there is no difference in the resulting DNG file. The result is "too dark". The 3 passes are happening and the ME pass occurs just like it always did, about twice as slow as the 1st pass and the IR pass but it just doesn't seem to have any effect on the result.
About 6 months ago I started a lengthy slide scanning archive project (over 5000 slides) and put the project on hold during the summer months. Before the hiatus, the scans were good and I was working with an earlier version of Mac OS X (Mavericks, Yosemite) and corresponding earlier versions of Silverfast Ai Studio. But after returning to the project and recently updating to El Cap and the lastest Silverfast software versions I started to notice the scans were too dark and only recently stumbled on the finding that ME has no effect. Do you think this is a scanner hardware issue or software issue? I would be happy to provide DNG files, or scans of my IT8.7/1-1993 (Fuji Provia) calibration target, etc...
If sample files are desired, please let me know the best way to provide them. My DNG files are ~140MB each...
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Multiple Exposure not working
Dear Scott,
a ME-DNG and non-ME-DNG will not show any noticeable difference in itself.
If the content shows any difference depends on the amount of content the original scan did not see.
If the main scan already catches all the visible detail the ME scan will mainly increase the dynamic range. But this is not always visible but improves post processing of the files.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Multiple Exposure not working
Hi Arne,
Thanks for the reply. I think this is a case of "operator error" (my fault!) When I resumed my project I started with a different carousel of slides which was different film and I think possibly incorrectly exposed (wrong ASA/ISO setting perhaps??) Subsequent carousel's of slides have looked better and not so dark. Appreciate the insight.

Multiple Exposure not working
The heated seats in my 03 z71 are not working. The switch goes on- lights up but then goes out. The seat does not get warm and the fuse does not blow. Any ideas?
