Moving from PC platform to iMac

I am moving my computing from an old PC to the Mac platform. I have a Plustek 7600i Optic Film and originally installed the supplied Version 4.00 scanner software and Silverfast 6.6 on my Windows XP machine. I now have an iMAC with Yosemite OS X 10.10. I note that I can purchase an upgrade for Silverfast for the Mac but it is not clear whether this needs the previous installation in order to install correctly, or if the new software upgrade will provide a full installation on it's own. (I note from my Silverfast CD that it supports MAC 10.3.9) Also it is not clear whether I will also need to install new drivers for the Plustek on the iMac. Has anybody been through this process before and if so, please advise.

No, an upgrade does not require a previously installed version.
Our upgrades and updates are always full installation files.
