Error message on opening SilverFast 8

Postby ssandhaus » Tue Jan 14, 2014 2:56 pm

Just updated to latest version on Mac (8.0.1r37. Using with an Epson V700 scanner. Have never used a different scanner with this software or previous versions. Now whenever I open SilverFast I get an error message that says: "SilverFast has been updated. There are still files that require an update to be compatible. SilverFast will temporarily disable the outdated modules. Please update your SilverFast software for: Canon Family". When I click on OK, SilverFast loads and works fine. I've tried looking for Canon Family files to update but can't find them. This is inconvenient but not a major problem for me. Any suggestions or help?

Dear Sandy,

The message is harmless.
One of our previous updates accidentally contained Canon components.

You can solve this the following way.
Use the uninstall in the SilverFast 8 folder to remove SilverFast.
/Applications/SilverFast Application/SilverFast 8/uninstall SilverFast 8

Then reinstall the latest 8.0.1r37 update.
(Our "Updates" are always full installation files)

The message should no longer appear now.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
