HI,
I upgraded to osx 10.11 yesterday or so.
SF8.5 does not scan preview or stop when scanning using work-flow pilot.
Unknown error message is issued!
The scanner seems to be ok on a win 10 pc.
El Capitan is said to be supported by LaserSoft when I googled such problem.
I would like to know what the problem is from the new OS or from SF8.5.
Turning off the "App Nap" or 32-bit mode does not make any difference from the default setting; unknown error!
Macbook pro retina 13 inch late 2013 with i5-dual core + 8 Gb of ram is my machine(not CTO version).
No problem when I use yosemite version of OS X.

Re: El Capitan - Plustek 8200i ==> "unknown error"
We also just have gotten the final version of OS X 10.11 and have began our testing.
Therefor we have not yet declared official SilverFast 8 support for this operating system.
There have bee several reports about USB devices not properly working under OS X 10.11.
We are currently examining these issues.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Dear customer,
There are no longer any known issues regarding OS X 10.11.
Please make sure you have installed the latest SilverFast 8 updated.
If that does not help the drivers might not have updated.
To solve that delete the Plustek****.framework files from the folder /Library/Frameworks.
Afterwards reinstall the latest update and restart your Mac.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

I have the same problem with MacBook Pro 13" middle of 2009 (8 Gb, 2,26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo) and SF 8.8.0r 1: When I start scanning my slide, everything goes well until Silverfast tries to make another pass (like iSRD or ME) and stops saying "Unknown error"...

Hi -
I too am experiencing this problem. I have just updated Silverfast to the most recent version but I still get the unknown error message.

Please make sure you removed the framework files before reinstalling SilverFast.
Simply reinstalling will not be enough.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Hello,
I'm having this issue as well. I've already deleted the Frameworks as you suggested to the other users above, and have updated my version of SilverFast, but still receive the "unknown error" message. Moreover, my scanner at times makes an unusual laboring sound right before that message occurs.

Dear Mikael,
They are in the global Library under Frameworks
/Library/Frameworks
This is the direct path.
Please do not confuse it with your local user Library.
Alternatively you can now download an driver installation file directly from the Plustek website.
This will also install the latest drivers.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
