Umax and Panther???

Postby cdssh » Mon Nov 24, 2003 6:16 pm

Does anyone ( other than Lasersoft) have their Umax scanner working with Panther? I have sent e-mails to Lasersoft, but haven't received a solid reply,as to if Panther and Lasersoft work for the Umax 2400 s scanner. I would like to here from other people on the forum please, not Lasersoft. I am beginning to believe that there is a lot of smoke being blown up you know where by support. I hope someone can shed some light on this issue. Thanks CDSSH :x

Dear cdssh.

FYI: LSI clearly states on our website that the Umax 2400s is not ready for panther yet and is a 1000% percent non-smoking company.

Kind regards.

Umax version?

Postby cdssh » Tue Nov 25, 2003 4:46 pm

Is there going to be a version released soon that works for Umax scanners or is it a wash. If so can you give a date so I know if I should buy a new scanner that works with Panther. :(

Dear all.

Please read this post and try with your model:

Dear cdssh.

We think we need to support this scanner under Panther. Right now this project is on hold due to the fact that we don?t have this model available for internal testing.

Kind regards.

Dear cdssh,

I have just tested the 2400 S under Panther 10.3.1 - with a Acard 6712

SCSI ID: 2 - no termination

It's running well.

kind regards

Dear All,

The problem is now fixed for the Umax 2400S connected via certain Adaptec SCSI cards (and for some other scanners based on Umax hardware). Expect an update in a couple of weeks (probably in release 6.2)

Umax 6400 troubles

Postby ntaglass » Fri Jan 09, 2004 11:52 pm

I bought 6.0 because it supported my Umax 6400. It worked like a charm on 10.3 and 10.3.1, however, once I upgraded to 10.3.2, when I try to scan I can do one or two scans into Photoshop and then I get a window that says:
Error in Scan Start
Cannot Calibrate scanner

At this point the only thing I can do that will make it work again is close the programs down and restart.

This is an odd thing, so probably you don't have the answer, but if you do, I'd appreciate the help. I work off my scanner for my Internet business, and doing 75-100 scans a couple at a time with restarts is driving me nuts!

I wish I could go back and undo the upgrade to 10.3.2

thanks, jeanne

Umax and Panther

I'm not using a multi monitor setup, but this last update fixed the problem, which was wonderful. Now all is working well. Thanks for finally getting back to me, its been months since that post. I'd hoped for some sort of response a bit sooner than that.
