Panther List - Update

Postby LSI_Support » Tue Nov 04, 2003 12:51 pm

Please note that this list is outdated!
Check what operating systems are supported in the SilverFast versions for your scanner under: Support > Supported scanners.

Report: product compatibility with OS-X Panther (SilverFast Ai 6)

NOTE: Panther is only working with SilverFast Release 6.1.0r5 or higher. Please update before trying! We have tested these models with Adaptec SCSI 2930 and a clean Panther G4 system (no update). FireWire and USB 2.0 models have been tested under G5. INFO: The Epson vs. Panther Fix is done! Please download the latest version of SilverFast. :-)

TESTED OK:

SilverFast DCPro

SilverFast HDR

SilverFast DC-VLT

Dear customer

actually any scanner supported under Jaguar is supported under Panther, too. Please examine our "supported scanners" list (under support) for information on your specific device.

However, there have been some changes concerning SCSI in Panther, e.g. the IOSCSI device interface seems no longer to be supported, only the SCSItask interface remains. Thus it may well be that you experience problems with your SCSI scanner in Panther which were unknown to you in Jaguar.

Though this has nothing to do with SilverFast, we will do our best to help you with these matters.

@acurran

I don?t know what this fullquote is good for, maybe you have problems too on this topic and want to bump it up?

As postet in this following thread http://www.silverfast.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=12214#12214, there are still some conflicts existing and maybe there?s a fix for you too.

SilverFast Ai 6 and OS X Tiger Compatability OS X

Postby graphics1design » Tue Jul 04, 2006 4:39 pm

Hello, I am a graphic arts teacher in a graphic design school. I teach electronic prepress, color correction, color theory, color management, color scanning. We have some of the new Mac OS X Tiger iMac G5s with intel CoreDuo. We have many different scanners that we use, mostly donated to the graphic design school here. I am asking about whether I will be running into problems when I install the SilverFast Ai 6 on these new iMac G5s with intel Core Duo? Please Advise. Thanks.
