I see that SF 6.1.0.t8 (?) no longer crashes when run as a non-admin user in 10.3.2. but how do I access any settings created by the admin? I want to have lab users load these settings but not change them.
still can't run as non-admin in Jaguar, though.

different concepts of "what is a multi-user environment
Dear metamer
initially I would have thought that one would use multi-user options in order not to be influenced by others with what they do with a given program and not to influence others with what I do with it.
However, I see that you want to achieve something completely different - but intriguing nonetheless.
I haven't tried it myself, but I suggest you do all the settings you what and save a set of presets.
Then you copy those prefs folders and files to the users' folders.
Thereafter - logged in as an admin - you deny the users write-permission to there own users' prefs folders.
Please let us know if this would work.
Thanks in advance
