I have installed a SF6Ai upgrade under MacOS 10.2 (SF 5.5 Ai was my previous version). My problem is that the SF plugin doesn't accept the serial number I got with the online ordering. Everything should be ok so far, that is, SF5.5 Ai CD is in the drive & mounted, my user has admin rights, and the serial number definitely is ok, as the serialization actually works under MacOS9!
I'm using a Nikon LS-30, and the relevant SF version is SF6.0.2r2. My impression is that the MacOSX-version of the SF plugin, which is actually a "NikonSF" product, doesn't accept the "NikonM" SF 5.5 Ai CD. Could that be possible? As far as I can see the MacOS9-version of SF6 labels itself "NikonM", as opposed to the MacOSX-version, so that it matches the CD contents, which could explain why everything works fine under MacOS9.
Any other ideas apart from having "the wrong (NikonM instead of NikonSF) CD"?
Thanks & cheers,
Kai

Dear Kai.
We found that bug yesterday. The LS30 module could not be serialized under OSX. Updates will come soon.
For OS9, we are using the MAID library from Nikon to communicate with the scanner (->NikonM, M stands for Maid), which also supports digital ICE.
For OSX, we had to implement the communication by ourselves (NikonSF, SF stands for SilverFast), because Maid doesn?t support the LS30 on OSX. Here we cannot suport digital ICE, due to licensing.
Eric.

Hi Eric,
yes, I was aware of that driver story, that's why I closely watched the "M" vs the "SF" product names which the SF_App mentions during startup.
Thanks for your help (and this "Thank you" goes to Mr. Engelhardt as well for his E-Mail support, btw), it's mucho appreciated.
I'll go now into lookout-for-updates mode...
Cheers,
Kai
