Demo would not install "not enough physical memory" Same thing happened with Spring Cleaning Tech support rewrote program and it installed fine. They said I had "memory rollover" I have 2Gb in a brand new dual processor G4. Any ideas?

This is, unfortunately, a problem with the Aladdin- installers we use. Until a fix is available, it is necessary to remove some RAM for the installation, so you don't have more than 1.5 GB. After the instalation has finished, you can put the RAM back (please turn off your computer before removing or re-inserting RAM ;-) )

Memory Problems During Installation

Postby mkw » Tue Mar 23, 2004 12:22 am

I just received my intall disc for Silverfast AI and am a little disturbed by the fact that I cannot intstall the application on my OS X Jaguar system (with 1.75 GB of memory). What is even more disturbing is that I have to comb through support forums to discover why the installer doesn't work. Shame on you for not including this "fact" in your installation literature. Remove memory? You have got to be joking! I have never encountered this sort of installation problem on ANY software I have ever installed. If it weren't for the fact that Silverfast appears to be a great product, I would most definitely return my package for a full refund. Please, use a different scheme for installation, or be sure to post this "feature" so purchasers will know what they are getting into before they buy ...

As you might have seen, the previous posts in this thread are from 2002. At that time Silverfast would not install correctly with more than 1.5GB of RAM. Of course, this problem was solved a long time ago, when we switched to a new install system. The CDs that we've been sending out for the last year do not have this problem anymore. If you have anything older than that, there are free version 6 updates on our website, for current version 6 owners. These also include compatibility fixes for Panther, and Photoshop CS. Please give it a try ! If there still is a problem, please do nto hesitate to contact support directly !
