Hi all,
I have a Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED that I will be using to digitise a large photographic archive with, most of which was shot on Fuji film.
Can someone recommend which iT8 target to use. I would assume that the 35mm transparency Fuji target is the logical choice.
Is this correct?
Cheers,
Stephen

Re: Which Calibration Target?
Dear Stephen,
For scanning transparencies there are basically two types of IT8 calibration targets you might need.
Ektachrome or Fujichrome (note that these are two different brands, Kodak and Fuji) for normal slides.
Kodachrome for Kodachromes slides.
If all your archive is made out of normal slides you might decide to choose between the Ektachrome from Kodak or Fujichrome from Fuji, no matter if your archive slides are kodak or fuji.
If you have some Kodachromes on the other side, you can only calibrate for Kodachrome scanning using one IT8 target of this emulsion.
Cheers

Re: Which Calibration Target?
Hi Alejandro,
Thanks for the response much appreciated.
I understand what you are saying, that the calibration is independent of which original slide type you are using except for Kodachrome slides.
Is this correct?
Cheers,
Stephen
