What settings suggested when scanning B&W Negs as 48 Bit?

Hi,

If I want to scan B&W negatives as 48 Bit color what settings would you suggest as a starting point?

Dear hassiman,
it depends what your final aim is !

First of all i would advice you to scan an archival scan from your negative in order to preserve all your scanner is able to read from the film !
For this i would choose to scan in 64 Bit HDRi in 4000 dpi, maybe even using multiscan !

Then you could produce nice looking 8 Bit or 16 Bit grayscale images from these archival scans at any time...
