I am a longtime user of Silverfast for both an Epson V750 Pro flatbed scanner and a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 film scanner.
I recently upgraded to v8.8.0r2 and am having the following problems with the software and Nikon scanner. I have an Apple Macintosh Mac Pro running OSX 10.5.5. The scanner to computer connection is via a USB cable. I am scanning 35mm slides.
#1 I cannot use the manual focus point tool. As soon as I select the point the software crashes.
#2 When I zoom in to 1:1 to check dust & scratch removal I sometimes get the previous image scanned in the preview window, not the actual image on which I am working (the slide in the scanner). I have to restart the software to clear/resolve this problem.
I have reset the software multiple times and that does not fix either of these problems. Thanks for your help!

Re: v8.8.0r2 with Nikon Super Coolscan 5000
Dear customer,
is OS X 10.5 correct?
SilverFast 8.8 requires at least OS X 10.7. It is not compatible with OS X 10.5.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

OS X 10.5 unfortunately would be too old for SilverFast 8.8.
You can download the previous 8.2 version from our download Update area.
Please install that.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
