slow scan speed

Postby cowgum » Wed Mar 05, 2003 8:51 am

I am facing extremely slow scanning speed when I turned on 16x multi sampling to scan a 6x7 trans. The scanner would just scan for a few seconds and would pause for a long time before scanning again. It wasnt like this slow before when I was trying out the demo with the same settings, nor was it as slow with Nikon Scan.

I found out also that the slow scan speed does not occur with 35mm slides. It happens when I am trying to scan medium format stuff. I am using the FH-869GR holder, which is the 120 film rotated holder with glass

PS: I kept getting a invalid session if I choose to logon automatically. anyone knows why?...so I have to keep on doing a new post rather then editing my posts

re Invalid Session.

are you using Safari? I'm getting the same problems. I wonder if it's a cookie problem.

Extremely slow scan speed

Postby BB » Mon Mar 24, 2003 3:50 pm

I am facing a similar problem:
after switching to 2x multi sampling, and then back to 1x, my LS4000 takes extremely long for the prescan and the main scan; this happens only with the film strip holder (SA21, Ithink), there is no problem with the slide adapter so far.
I already deinstalled and reinstalled SilverFast, but no success. Could it be possible that something inside the scanners parameter RAM (if this exists) is messed up and not reset?
